Friends,

Join me for Salsa & Tango In The Catskills 2018 - Friday August 24 through Sunday August 26 at the beautiful Honors Haven Resort and Spa.  For the second consecutive year, Harry Trinidad (of the renowned Salsa Warriors) and I are delighted to bring you a weekend of live Latin music and dancing.

On the Salsa side, Grammy winner Eddie Montalvo & His Orchestra, and Charanga Band, Son Del Monte will provide live music.  The well-known Salsa team of Steve Seda and Glenda Liz will perform and teach. I will also be teaching classes.

For Tango lovers, world famous Tango virtuosos Junior Cervila & Guadalupe Garcia and Maia Martinez & David Salvatierra will perform and teach.  Master Tango teachers Alicia Cruzado & Karina Romero will give not-to-be-missed workshops.

The new upscale 200+ acre Honors Haven Resort & Spa is stunning. Reserve early to get a room with a great view because the Catskills are gorgeous in August. Casual dress is suitable for most dance events & hotel activities, but remember -- bring evening wear for Saturday’s “Elegant Night of Dinner, Salsa & Tango Shows & Dancing.”  The event can fit any schedule. Come for a day or for the weekend.

La Mambera's Birthday and Holiday Salsa Bash

Well the holiday season is upon us...I'm sure you'll agree time moves so quickly.  It seems like yesterday we were dancing outdoors all over Manhattan.  And for reasons that are really not that interesting, ...it's been one year since our last event.  I hope you'll agree it's about time to have another!  I get so many messages and inquiries..."Where do you go to dance?".  Of course, there are many options..but not so many like our event.  We like to think of ourselves as unique.  Whether we are or not is completely irrelevant.  We know how to have a good time, we know how to provide the right atmosphere, we know how to share the music with the people in this community we love.  We know that it's the love and passion for this music, dance and community that holds us together, ties us together like family.  It's that simple.  Hope  you will come celebrate my birthday and the holiday season with us.  Looking forward to seeing you on the dance floor!  Have a joyous and happy holiday season!!

Welcome to La Mambera’s World — Let’s Celebrate!

There are plenty of blogs about distressing current events, others with scolding messages about self-improvement and more than a few with advice that is absolutely scary — do this, don’t do that, wear this, buy that. This is not one of them.

I plan to share great things to do in New York City, dance fashions, travel anecdotes, tips for having a great time when you go out dancing and much more.

In the mood for gloom and doom? Look elsewhere. Looking for a party? Here’s your invitation. Follow my posts for fun, exciting, interesting things to see, discover and enjoy, plus news about my Salsa Jams and other dance events. Join me in La Mambera’s world.

On Clave

Everyone Wants To Dance

When my students are reluctant to make the leap from Salsa classes to social dances, I do my best to help them understand that everyone at a party wants to dance. Walking in with a smile and being open to enjoying the entire experience is key. Whether you go out alone or arrive with a group, know that everyone at the party is just like you - they want to dance.
